This small suburban garden in Stockport was tired and full of shrubs and trees that had grown far too large for the space that was available. We were given a brief that included minimising planting space, creating a garden that was low maintenance with space to sit out and enjoy the summer sun (not that we get much of that in the North West!).
We used large Raj Green Indian sandstone pavers, laid in rows to maximise the space. Two raised beds with treated softwood timber provide simple, formal planting to break up the hard landscaping and a smooth deck path leads to the back gate. The focal point of the garden is a beautiful weeping Acer in a circular bed, surrounded by an area of decorative gravel. A striking black pergola provides a backdrop for the whole garden and helps to screen the unsightly fence to the rear.
A really interesting job to design and build, providing our customer with a great new space to use throughout the year.
